Welcome to Reel Addiction Charters, I’m Captain Troy.

I’m an avid fisherman, married with two children.  I started fishing for Trout and Salmon in 1983 with my father in Berrien Springs, MI and have been addicted ever since.  I’ve been fishing Lake Michigan for over 20 years now.  I’m an active member in the Steelheaders and enjoy competitive tournament fishing. 

My passion for fishing led me to obtain my Captain’s license.  In 2006 I received by USCG 25 ton master license with a towing endorsement.  I’m a member of the Michigan Charter Boat Association including their random drug screening program.  Additionally, I’m certified in CPR and First Aid.

I fish from the beautiful port of St. Joseph, MI which is one of the top rated ports for Skamania Steelhead.  The port of St. Joe also offers the opportunity for achieving the Grand Slam of Great Lakes Fishing; a mixed box of Chinook, Coho, Brown Trout, Lake Trout and Steelhead.  

When I’m not fishing I enjoy family activities, golfing, and hunting.
